During my time with iRobot I was tasked with the Lead Designer role on multiple Roomba platforms. When I started in late 2017 the company was restructuring to design products entirely in house. We had a rare opportunity to redesign the entire catalogue. We grounded this process with a global design research study which took us into users’ homes in the US, Japan, Germany, and France. We then reinvented the physical design language and CMF strategy to differentiate iRobot and to blend more cohesively into users lives.
